Orders, Decorations and Medals relating to Sri Lanka (Ceylon) from 1795 to the present.

The proposed cover for this book is shows the Decorations and Medals belonging to Deshamanya General Don Sepala Attygalle LVO. This photo was chosen because it represents medals from both Dominion and Republic periods.

Part One of this Book will cover all Orders, Decorations and Medals, both Military and Civil, that were awarded by the British and the Ceylon Governments during the Colonial (1795 – 1948) and Dominion (1948 – 1972) periods.

Included are all Orders of Knighthood, Decorations and Medals for Gallantry, Campaign Medals, Decorations and Medals for Long Service and Good Conduct, Commemorative and Miscellaneous Medals and Police and Fire-Service Medals.

Part Two will cover all National Honours, Decorations (Vibushana) and Medals (Padakkam) of the Republic of Sri Lanka (from 1972 to the present).

Included are National Honours of the Republic of Sri Lanka, Decorations and Medals for Gallantry, Decorations and Medals for Distinguished and Meritorious Service, Commemorative Medals and Campaign Medals.

Among the Appendices will be Boy Scouts Medals and Awards, Foreign and Miscellaneous Awards, List of Members of HM’s Honourable Privy Council and a List of Members of HM’s Honourable Privy Council in Ireland.
